Sitting in Abu Dhabi

We’re waiting for the big flight (14 hours) to Chicago. We had breakfast and are ready to go. Of course, we have 2.5 hours in Chicago to:

1. disembark with all of our goodies

2. gather our checked luggage

3. go through customs

4. get our boarding passes for Knoxville

5. get on the plane

We had about 2-2.5 hours last time and it was okay, but not if customs is a pain. Our taxi to the airport charged us Rs. 1000 for a Rs. 250 ride by his meter. Evil little man. I’m sure he’ll be coming back as something small and disgusting. All in all, the trip hasn’t been bad so far (she says before the 14 hour flight). The Mumbai airport is much nicer than the Chennai airport. They had toilets AND paper. Pretty darn exciting. They also had swarms of mosquitos getting their last bites. Even the airplane was swarming with them. I don’t think we got too devoured. We covered up with the blanket and passed out. It’s kind of surreal to be heading home. Glad the airport here has wifi.
