I can’t believe that summer is drawing to a close! The kids are all going back to school. Soon the air will be crisp and the sound of marching bands practicing will drift through the air. That’s how I always know it’s fall. The leaves have been somewhat fickle the last few years. They just hold their color and then next thing you know, all the green is gone because all the leaves are on the ground. Let’s hope for a colorful one this year.
We’re also already looking to what we will do for summer next year. I was thinking maybe we try traveling a bit. This article I read you can find at http://gogobudgettravel.com/italy-real-food-fan/ gave me a pretty good idea. Why not go to a place known for vacation spots as well as great food? Seems like a win-win.
Of course, there is something beautiful about an empty tree. I love it when all of the leaves are off, and the mountains look almost like silver porcupines with all of those vertical lines. I do love the fall. It feels peaceful, like the hectic year has to take a bit of a moment to just look back at all we have accomplished.
But it’s all so fleeting. Next thing you know, it’s winter and then spring again. Then we’re back where we were just a year before, hot and busy with a crazy to do list and some romantic ideas of a beautiful, crisp fall, stuffing yourself with holiday goodies and bedding down for a nice long hibernation.
