Happy Anniversary to Us!

Today is our anniversary. I don’t know if I’ve ever posted any shots from OUR wedding, so in honor of the big day, here are a few of my favorites.

Every year we plan to take a 3 day trip someplace just us. Usually we pick a cabin or something and unplug. That means no phone, no computer, maybe some TV but probably not. It’s just us for 3 days. Of course, it doesn’t always happen on our anniversary. Like this year. We haven’t figured out when our trip will be, but if you don’t hear from me for 3 days, you’ll know where I am. I’ll try to give you a heads up.

Gatlinburg in the fall

If you didn’t know, East Tennessee is beautiful in the fall. These shots are from a cabin weekend we did with Nathan’s family.

Christi’s bridal gift

As you know, my brother got married the other week. I was a bridesmaid (and photographer & ran video which we never do for weddings, but when it’s your brother, you make exceptions), and I thought we should be able to pull together a great gift for his bride. The other bridesmaids as well as some of Christi’s BFFs and her parents sent me lots of great pictures from their life with Christi and I put together this little album for her. We printed it as a 6×6 and we gave it to her at the rehearsal dinner. It went over great! So for those who didn’t get to see it at the wedding weekend or are curious what it would look like to put lots of different pictures into a designer album, here you go. (I did not take all of these pictures, but I did take a bunch near the second half from the cruise).

And here’s the poem from the end:

Friendship is a quiet walk in the park with the one you trust.
Love is when you feel like you are the only two around.

Friendship is when they gaze into your eyes, and you know they care.
Love is when he gazes into your eyes, and it warms your heart.

Friendship is being close even when you are far apart.
Love is when you can still feel his hand on your heart when he is not near.

Friendship is hoping that they experience the very best.
Love is when you bring him the very best.

Friendship occupies your mind.
Love occupies your soul.

Friendship is knowing that you will always be there when needed.
Love is when you will give up everything to be at his side.

Friendship is a warm smile in the winter.
Love is a warming touch that sends a pulse through your heart.

Friendship can survive without love.
Love cannot live without friendship.

My baby brother got married

My baby brother got married this month. He’s all grown up now and off on his honeymoon. Of course, being the sister of the groom means the mother of the groom has me on speed dial and wants to see photos. Well, mom, here is a sneak preview. The full post will come AFTER I’ve had a chance to edit the 100GB of images. Literally. Oh, and I’ll get that Christi’s bridal portrait up here soon. I promise!

HoundDogs Apparel

It’s football time in Tennessee, so I thought this would be appropriate. HoundDogs is a local store out in West Knox that sells everything a UT fan needs. They have a shiny new website and you can order goodies online. I photographed some of those goodies.

Lunar Eclipse

There was a lunar eclipse sometime in the last few years (yep, I’m a bit behind). We we out and took some fun pictures and I’m finally getting around to sharing them.

Boomsday 2008

It’s the week leading up to Boomsday 2010 & I’m continuing my Boomsday theme. Here are pictures from 2008. Nathan’s family came up and we had a big time with ridiculous amounts of food and good times.

Boomsday 2007

2007 was our first Boomsday. Sure, we lived in Knoxville in 2006, but we were new and didn’t know about Boomsday. For all of you non-Knoxvillians, Boomsday is the AWESOME fireworks show the city puts on for Labor Day. Sure, we could be like the rest of the country and put on our big display at July 4th, but that’s not how we roll. We wait until Labor Day then we hire the company that does the July 4th fireworks in D.C. to come blow up the Henley Street Bridge over the Tennessee River. It’s a crazy huge deal. They have fair food and people arrive early to get the best spots. Club LeConte has a party for members at the top of the tallest building in town. We just go down to the river and find a spot by the train tracks.

I shot these with my little Canon Digital Elph (may it rest in peace) & Nate’s brother Aaron joined us along with Karrie & Bryan (yes, the Karrie of The Brick Cottage fame).
