Tammy & Kenny’s Wedding

Sherwood Forest Conference Center in Pigeon Forge, TN, Wedding
Tammy & Kenny got married on a snowy February 13th this year. They had some technical difficulties due to the weather (their rehearsal/dinner was cancelled because no one could get up the mountain, her parents were held up by the weather and arrived just before the wedding), but they were so relaxed and didn’t let anything deter their amazing wedding.

Sherwood Forest Conference Center in Pigeon Forge, TNThey got married at Sherwood Forest Conference Center in Pigeon Forge which is fabulous. I love shooting here, especially since I found the back way in ( >:P””” Pigeon Forge Traffic) and discovered the key to perfect color balance in the somewhat orangey, shiny log cabin. It’s a great location. I love the views from the cabins and the fact that there are plenty of fun locations nearby for the Forest of the Smokeys look. You can see some of that from a wedding I shot there in 2009.

Sherwood Forest Conference Center in Pigeon Forge, TN, Blended Family WeddingIt’s a bit of the Brady Bunch with 6 kids coming together, 3 boys & 3 girls. Everyone seemed to get along pretty well (especially considering how annoying teenagers generally find their younger siblings). In fact, I’m still not sure who belongs to who, they all blended together so seamlessly. I think the 6 kid situation may be part of where Tammy & Kenny get their amazing patience and relaxed natures. You have to learn to just let things ride with that many children around.

Tennessee Children’s Dance Ensemble

The Tennessee Children’s Dance Ensemble is an amazing company of young dancers. I was lucky enough to see them perform in Dallas when we were all there for the 2009 eWomen Network Conference.

They put on a private performance at a local hotel for our group and some friends in Dallas. I was absolutely blown away.

Gloria’s, Dallas, TX

Last time I was in Dallas for the 2009 eWomen Network Conference, I met up with my old roommate Briget for lunch at Gloria’s. They put crack in their bean dip. Seriously. It was so good I could have skipped my meal and just eaten the dip. The salsa is awesome too.

I got Glenda’s Favorite. I was glad that Briget made me share the bean dip so I had room for my meal. It was AMAZING!! I will definitely have to go back next time I’m in Dallas (or one of the other Texas towns it’s in. I’m really impressed with this chain.)

Roaring 20s Party

All Saint’s Catholic Church on Cedar Bluff has great adult events. This spring they held a Roaring 20s Social which was a blast! One of the members brought they Model A and we set up outside to do print on site pictures with the car and everyone in their fun outfits.

Everyone enjoyed checking out the pictures on site and getting 4x6s to take home with them. It was the Bees’ Knees. So if you want fun party favors, drop us a line.

Adam & Christi’s Engagement Party

My brother is getting married. It’s kind of weird. I used to dress him up in my clothes and one year I put make up on him while he slept as an April Fool’s Day joke (that’s not counting all of the early years when he let me put make up on him. He was such a cooperative baby brother). We played He-Man & She-Ra before they’d invented She-Ra and we buried his ThunderCat (Tigra) in the rock garden after a desk fell over on him and split his chest. I threw MossMan and Stinkor out in the jungle of our backyard when he made me mad and explored every neighborhood we lived in in Atlanta with him, having picnics under the magnolia trees in front of strangers’ houses.

And now he’s all grown up, hanging out in the pool at his FUTURE IN-LAWS house! How did this happen? But it’s cool. Christi is awesome. So I’ll go to the engagement parties and meet all of the new people Adam will be spending holidays with.

And I’ll do my best to keep the really embarrassing stories to my self at the upcoming bachelorette party.

Jeanna & John

Jeanna & John got married in October at The Cannery Ballroom in Nashville. We met up with them before hand at the Marriott Vanderbilt for posed pictures. It was a fabulously relaxed wedding. Everyone had a great time. The food was AMAZING! The music was fabulous. And the cakes (yes, I said cakeS plural), I had a small piece of each. YUM!

Jim & Joan’s Wedding Album

I shot Jim & Joan’s wedding in 2006 and what an amazing wedding it was! They had a very small, private ceremony at the The Little Chapel in Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church on Emory’s campus which they followed up with a fabulous party at Houston Mill House where everyone did as they were told and ate, drank, boogied and repeated.

I shared a bit of their album last year, but this year I have the whole event. It was such a blast! I love Joan’s dress (I nearly bought one very similar for my wedding just a few months after theirs). The whole day was about family, friends and love.

Cat portraits

Everyone thinks of having their dogs photographed, but what about the cats? They need love and attention too (well, some of them would rather you think they didn’t). Here are a few cat portraits for you fellow cat lovers out there.

John’s Headshots

I’ve known John for a while, and he HATES having his headshot made. Well, he did. But for his latest headshots he called me. I met him at Mancino’s (which is awesome) early in the morning, set up a quick backdrop and snapped these off with little to no pain associated with it. We had a great time and John was back to that mile long to do list in a jiffy.

John is pretty youthful and loves to live in the casual world of web design. While some people think they must wear a suit for their headshot, that is not the case. If your clients wouldn’t recognize you in a suit, why wear what is basically a disguise in your headshot. One thing I like about this shot is the straightforward feel to it. John helps people with their web needs and has worked hard to not be scary to those who are less-web-savvy.

Of course, there’s something nice about a 3/4 view. So we did some of both to give John choices.

Want a quick and easy headshot where you don’t even have to truck it all the way across Knoxville? I come to you! Plus, I’m running that special you may have heard about. It’s a pretty darn great deal.

Terry’s Headshot

I met Terry through eWomen Network (I meet lots of people that way. <3 eWomen). She’s the owner of Starfish Performance and is super easy to work with. We set up a backdrop in her livingroom and had a wonderful conversation and an easy shoot.

Business Headshot

This is Terry’s professional headshot. I love this top since it really makes her blue eyes and blond hair pop. The texture in the fabric is a nice way to add pattern without getting too busy.

Casual headshotWe also did a more casual shot for things like facebook. While this top might get a bit busy in a wider shot, for a close up portrait, it adds interest without dragging your eyes to it. The muted colors help and that blue, again brings out the blue of her eyes.

Casual headshot

So are you ready to have your headshot done? We have that great special still going on!
